Middletown fireman assisted the Mechanicstown Fire Dept early this morning to extinguish a fire that destroyed the Rusty Nail on Dunning Road.
At 15:29 Middletown FD responded to MVA car into a house.Upon arrival Car 3 reported car on fire with extension to the house. 2nd alarm was transmitted bringing mutual aid to stand by in our quarters from Mechanicstown, Howells and Pocatello. Fast Team from Circleville/Silverlake to the scene. Thanks to all mutual aid, County Coordinator and members.

The Middletown Fire Department will participate in the annual Halloween night out for trick-or-treating. Chief Don Luis said that all the companies in the city will be out at designated area's talking about fire prevention and handing out candy to the local children. Assignments are as follows: Truck 1 Highland Ave, Engine 1 Beers drive, Engine 2 Courtland St and Highland Ave, Engine 4 Vincent Drive, Engine 5 Albert St and Beattie Ave and Engine 6 Lake Ave and Woods Place. The Middletown fire Police will be out and about the city looking over our firefighters and the public as they trick or treat. We hope will have a good time and be safe!
The rib contest that took place on Thursday September 20th turned out to be a fantastic event. Circleville fire dept. won first place followed by Middletown and then Silver Lake. There was a nice turnout and all the proceeds went to Homes for our troops.
The Middletown Fire Police will attend the Orange County Volunteer Fireman's Parade on September 22, 2018 in Greenwood Lake NY. They will assist with traffic control during the parade. Captain Robert Bennett said that helping other communities is important and there may be times we need assistance here in the city. The FP will be leaving the city that Saturday at 10 am. We ask them to be safe!
The Silver Lake Fire Company has challenged the Middletown Fire Depart and Circleville FD to a rib eating contest on Thursday September 20, 2018 at Texas Roadhouse. The event will be from 4pm to 10 pm with the contest starting at 6pm. There will be 3 person teams. All proceeds will benefit Homes For Our Troops.
Last night, Kyle Lewis from the Eagle Engine Co. # 2 graduated from firefighter 1 from the Orange County Fire Training Center in New Hampton NY. We congratulate him!
The Phoenix Engine Co # 4 will hold a car wash on July 28 2018. It will be held in the James street parking lot from 9 am to 5 pm. They are looking for your support! Thank you!
Middletown Fireman responded to a working structure fire at approximately 1:30 this morning at 169 Linden Ave. A 3rd and 4 th alarm were struck to bring in extra manpower because of the warm temperatures. Mobil life and their sort team were on scene to assist the firefighters with rehab! Circleville/silverlake FAS and Pocatello/Mt. Hope we’re on scene to assist. Mechanicstown, Howells and Washington Heights stood by at central Fitehouse to cover the city.
Middletown Fireman responded mutual aid to Washington Heights Fire Dept. Early this morning for a working structure fire at the Mobil gas station on Rte 17 M. Phoenix engine co responded with manpower and the Excelsior’s ladder co 1 responded with the FAS team. The fire is under investigation and there were no injuries reported. The McQuoid Engine and Ladder Co #3 regret to announce the passing of William “bill” Kautz Sr. Bill was past Capt of the Company. His services were held at Morse Funeral home Sunday evening at 5 pm where he received his last call at 5:09 pm. He was a good member and will be sadly missed.
The Middletown Fire Department is in mourning for the death of Past Chief Victor Lomascola. chief Lomascola was a kind and generous man who dedicated most of his life to the department as well as a NYS fire Instructor who taught many Firefighters in the area. He will be sadly missed my many.
Middletown fireman held their 1st annual field day on Saturday May 5, 2018 at Davidge Park. Coordinator of the event Sean Gerow put together a group of events that had members participate alone and with 2 and 3 person teams. It was a challenging but fun day!
